ABOUT THE HOCKING COLLEGE FARM

The Hocking College Farm is located in Logan, Ohio and operated by the Agroecology students at Hocking College.

Agroecology uses the study of ecology to evaluate the productivity of agricultural systems. This includes the dynamics between technological advances, biophysical interactions, socioeconomic relationships, and the geology/geomorphology of a region.

Use of local resources, conservation and preservation of the environment and efficiency are the goal for success in farming via Agroecology.  This is ideal for a small farm in areas that may suffer economically or have limited natural resources.

HERE'S WHY OUR CUSTOMERS LOVE US

Grant (Fish Management) and Sasha (from Agroecology) teamed up and helped us figure how to efficiently heat our saltwater shrimp tanks using pex line. Now they and their students are helping us design and build our tilapia aquaponics system!
